· I can get the 'aptitude user's manual' from inside aptitude itself. Upon reading parts of it it does reference table's/images that I can't see seem to see in the text that I'm reading. I'll have to try the browser idea cuz I believe that I have 'aptitude-doc-en' installed on my system. I tried aptitude --simulate install and apt-get --simulate www.doorway.ru gave no results (0 package to install/upgrade/remove) However deborphan --show-priority --all-packages gives a list of packages ; I also tried the -n option (deborphan --show-priority --all-packages -n) which yields a list of more than packages.. Not all of them are really unused but it. There are two basic commands for installing packages on Debian (and other: linux variants): apt-get and aptitude. However, explaining the subtle differences between these commands goes: beyond the scope of this manual.
